I'm a retired IT Manager and was previously a qualified professional photographer (British Institute of Professional Photographers - BIPP) I have a keen interest in astronomy and took up astrophotography some seven years ago. I was elected a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) in 2017

Photographs on this site have been taken from my garden near Mansfield in Nottinghamshire using the equipment shown or acquired remotely using facilities provided by Telescope Live (see separate tab above)

My images have been published in BBC Sky at Night, Astronomy Now, Sky & Telescope and Astronomy Magazines. The Heart Nebula (below left) was NASA Astronomy picture of the day (APOD) on 27th August 2017. The Heart Nebula was also published in Philip's 2019 Stargazing

I was shortlisted in Royal Observatory's Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2017 and again in 2018. I have recently written equipment reviews and processing articles for BBC Sky at Night Magazine.

I was one of the Lecturers at IAS (International Astronomy Show) October 2018 providing two talks "Deep Sky Astrophotography" & "Processing of Deep Sky Images" I was again one of the Lecturers at IAS in November 2019.

I provide Astrophotography talks for Photographic and Astronomical Societies in the UK - contact me by sending an email to [email protected] or through
