I'm a retired IT Manager and was previously a qualified professional photographer with the (British Institute of Professional Photographers) I have a keen interest in astronomy and took up astrophotography some ten years ago. I was elected a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) in 2017
Photographs on this site (except those under the Telescope Live Tab above) have been taken from my garden near Mansfield in Nottinghamshire using the equipment shown (equipment tab above) I am an Ambassador and Tutor for Telescope Live. Images acquired remotely using their facilities are shown seperately (Telescope Live Tab above)
My images have been published in BBC Sky at Night and Astronomy Now in the UK as well as in Sky & Telescope and Astronomy Magazines in the U.S. I have been awarded a NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD)
I was shortlisted in Royal Observatory's Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2017 and 2018.
I have written equipment reviews and processing articles as well as providing an Astrophotography Masterclass presentation for BBC Sky at Night Magazine.
I was one of the Lecturers at IAS (International Astronomy Show) 2018 , 2019 and 2022.
I was one of the lecturers at the Advanced Imaging Conference in San Jose California in May 2022.
